Walton Roy Mongan

Walton Roy Mongan, 51, died Wednesday, April 4 about 10:30 p.m. His death was attributed to a heart attack. His farm home was west of Cherokee.

He had farmed in Tilden Township since 1943. Previously he had operated a farm well water service out of Cherokee.

He is survived by his wife; his mother, Mrs. John W. Mongan of Cherokee, three sons, Donald Mongan of Cherokee, Dean at Hunter Air Force Base, Savannah Ga., and Robert with the armed forces in Germany; one daughter, Mrs. Edgar Albaugh of Biloxi, Miss. Three sisters, Mrs. Herman McKenzie of Cherokee, Mrs. Edward Hanson, Reinbeck, IA and Mrs. Delwood Dilocker of Washta and three brothers, Elliott Mongan of Cherokee, Dexter of Waterloo and John of Blue Springs, MO., are other survivors.

Funeral services were held Monday, April 9 at 2 p.m. from St. Paul's Methodist Church. The Rev. J.E. Feller officiated with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Boothby Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
