Mrs, William Hale was born in Chamlache, Canada, March 1841. Atthe age of 14 she went to Chicago, where she resided until 1880. She then went to Pecatonica Ill. where she remained until the spring of 1881. then coming to Cherokee , where, she spent the remainder of her life. She was a person of very religious principles, being a great reader of the Bible. She joined the Baptist Church at a very early age and remained a sincere, devoted, christian till she departed this life, April, 21, 1910. Her parting words were, " I am not afraid to die." Funeral services were held ar the Baptist Church at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon.
