MARCUS, Iowa — Douglas A. Hohbach, 45, of Rocklin, Calif., formerly of Marcus, died June 5, 2000, in Rocklin.

Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Peace Lutheran Church. The Rev. James Gruber will officiate. Burial will be prior to the service at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, under the direction of the Earnest and Roethler Funeral Chapel. There will be no visitation.

Mr. Hohbach was born April 1, 1955, in Cherokee, Iowa, the son of Wilmer and Ruth (Miller) Hohbach. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church. He grew up in the Marcus area and graduated from Marcus High School in 1973. He graduated from Concordia College in Seward, Neb., and from Loma Linda College in California.

He married Marcinda "Cindy" Showman on Sept. 27, 1987, in Piedmont, Calif. He had lived in the California communities of Redwood City, Folsom and Rocklin. He was a counselor in Rocklin. He was a member of Adventure Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife, three brothers and their wives, David and Garcia of Matlock, Iowa; Bruce and Jeanne of Lincoln, and Mark and Sarah of Portland, Ore.; a sister and her husband, Janice and Marlen Chinn of Wayne, Neb., his mother, Ruth Hohbach of Marcus; his grandmother, Elsie Miller of Paullina, Iowa; seven nieces and four nephews.

He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Adam and Clara Hohbach; maternal grandfather, William Miller; his father, Wilmer Hohbach and a niece, Debra Hohbach.
