MARCUS, Iowa — Glenwood Ohlendorf, 76, of Marcus died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000, at his residence.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Marcus, with the Rev. Donald Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, with military rites conducted by American Legion F.I. Goodburn Post 517. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today with a prayer service at 8 p.m. at Earnest and Roethler Funeral Home in Marcus.

Mr. Ohlendorf was born Sept. 29, 1923, in rural Cherokee County, Iowa, the son of Ben and Ella (Grauer) Ohlendorf. He attended rural school in Remsen Township and Marcus High School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He married Betty J. Hambrock on March 9, 1947, in Marcus. They farmed in the Remsen and Marcus areas. They retired in 1992 and moved into Marcus.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and served on the church council.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Daniel B. and his wife, Rose of Orange, Calif., and Dean A. of Remsen; a daughter and her husband, Cynthia and Mitchel Bauman of Sioux City; nine grandchildren; and a sister, Merlyn McKernan of Hemet, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
