MARCUS, Iowa — Lotus Geister, 81, of Oklahoma City, formerly of the Marcus area, died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2000, in Oklahoma City.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Holy Name Catholic Church in Marcus, with the Rev. Richard Remmes officiating. Burial will be in Holy Name Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Earnest and Roethler Funeral Home in Marcus.

Mrs. Geister was born Oct. 6, 1918, in Marcus, the daughter of George and Hazel (Booth) Pierce. She was raised in the Marcus and Cleghorn, Iowa, area and graduated from Cleghorn High School.

She married LuVerne Geister on Nov. 22, 1941, in Los Angeles. The couple lived in Le Mars, Iowa, and then in the Cherokee and Quimby, Iowa areas. They moved to Oklahoma City in 1970. He died March 13, 1988. She was a homemaker.

She did volunteer work at South West Community Medical Center in Oklahoma City.

Survivors include a son, Dennis Geister of Humbolt, S.D.; a daughter and her husband, Cheryl and Robert Schutz of Auroras Colo.; a brother and his wife, Gary and Connie Pierce of Boscobel, Wis.; two sisters, Verna Warren of Sioux City and Eilma Simmons of Ridge View, Calif.; three grandchildren, Steve Van Houten, Michael and Michele Geister; and three great-grandchildren.
