CLAYTON L. HAIGHT

ALTA — Funeral services were
held at First Methodist church in
Alta recently for Clayton L.
Haight, Rev. Newton H. Coughenour
officiated at the services.
Gerald Christensen and Murray
Jimmerson sang, In the Shadow
of the Cross and Beyond the
Sunset. Mr. Jimmerson also sang,
Going Home, with Mrs. Cougnehour
as accompanist.
Clayton L. Haight, son of
James and Rosetta Newcomb
Haight, was born in Elk township
Oct. 9, 1876. At the age of
four, he moved with his parents
to a farm in Brooke township.
On Aug. 21, 1918, he married
Mary Dworak. They lived on the
home place where they farmed
until retirement in October of
1943. They had resided in Alta
since that time.
Mr. Haight had been a patient
in Alta Memorial hospital much
of the time since December, 1951.
He recently returned to his home
where he died at the age of 75
years, seven months and 22 days.
He was a member of First Methodist
church.
Survivors include: His wife,
Mary; his sister, Lettie Haight
both of Alta; an aunt, Mrs. Lulu
Newcomb, Aurelia. His parents,
three brothers and a sister proceded
him in death.
Burial was in Elk Baptist
cemetery.
