MRS. RAY ADSIT

Mary Edna Townsend, daughter
of, David and Mary Ellen Brown
Townsend, was born March 26,
1878 at 433 West Cedar, Cherokee,
died June 2, 1952 at 301
East Cedar in this city.
She moved to LeMars with her
parents while still an infant and
returned to Cherokee as a young
woman. She resided here the rest
of her life.
In April, 1899, she married Ray
Adsit. Survivors include: Her
husband, one daughter, Helene
Nelson; one grandson, Howard
Adsit Nelson, jr.; three greatgrandsons
— Van. Randy and
Rickie, all of Aurelia. Other survivors:
One sister, Mrs. Helene
T. Smith of El Monte, Calif.; a
brother, Roy Townsend of Salem,
S. D.
An infant son and one daughter,
Rachel Louise and one grand,
daughter — Patricia Rachel —
preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held
Thursday afternoon, June 5 from
Boothby funeral home in Cherokee.
Rev. J. E . Gebhardt of Aurelia
officiated.
Pallbearers were: Howard Nelson,
sr., Howard Nelson, jr., Fred
Kaskey, Aurelia; Lawrence Adsit,
James Cary, Cherokee; Randall
Gottschalk, Storm Lake.
