Rites Thursday
For William Adsit
Who Died Today

A longtime Cherokee resident,
William Allison Adsit, 81,
passed away at his home at 413
Magnetic Tuesday morning after
a long illness. He made his
home with his two sisters, Misses
Lottie and Ruth Adsit.
For 23 years, he had served as
deputy treasurer to his brother,
Ray Adsit, where he was a faithful
employe and one who made
awide circle of friends. Despite
his handicap of lameness for
many years past, he was always
cheerful and overlooked his
handicap.
His parents Mr. and Mrs. William C. Adsit, came first to
Cherokee in 1876. His father was
an early day county surveyor
and later county auditor.
Survivors include the two
sisters and brother mentioned
above. Funeral services will be
held Thursday at 2:30 from the
Boothby funeral home, the Rev.
J. E. Feller officiating. Burial
will be at Oak Hill cemetery.
