Obituary for Arthur Charles Sleezer
(February 21, 1923-December 23, 1987)

Arthur C. Sleezer, 64, died Wednesday afternoon at Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital due to a sudden illness. His home was at 312 S. 10th Street. He had been a resident of Cherokee all his life.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee. Dr. Eugene Tolstedt will officiate. Burial will be in Afton Township. There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home on Saturday.

Mr. Sleezer was born February 21, 1923, in Cherokee. He was married to Lucille Young on May 30, 1943, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was a partner in Champion Electric for many years, retiring in 1985. He was active in antiques and operated Art’s Things of the Past. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Reserves in Cherokee.

He was preceded in death by his wife on September 12, 1974, and one brother Gilbert Sleezer.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Michael (Claudia) Ratkiewicz of Sioux City and Lynette Sleezer, Minneapolis and one granddaughter.
