Mrs. Emma V. Moses, 93, died at 5:45 a.m. Wednesday at Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. She had made her home at 503 Sumner Street & had been a resident of Cherokee since 1919.
Born on 14 Jan. 1878 at Marion, she married William A. Moses, Sr. on 21 May 1895 at Oto. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
Survivors are 4 daughters; Mrs. Elsie Dabbelaere of East Moline, IL; Mrs. Alice Reusch of Greenville; Miss Mary Moses of Cherokee & Mrs. Eileen Nelson of Davenport; 2 sons; William Jr. of Spirit Lake & Wayne of Fort Dodge; 27 grandchildren; 94 great grandchildren; 23 great great grandchildren; & 3 brothers; Charles Blackford of Sioux City and Guy & Lloyd, both of Smithland.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, William Moses Sr. on 18 Aug. 1957; 2 daughters; Mrs. Edward Surfus in 1933 & Mrs. Ermal Henderson in 1971; and 8 brothers & sisters.
Services will be announced later by Boothby Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
