Mrs. Eldred Beeghly, 80, Cherokee, died Sunday (Feb. 27, 1977) at her apartment after suffering an apparent heart attack.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Meadow Star United Methodist church, rural Quimby, with Rev. Leonard Rowse of St. Paul United Methodist church of Cherokee officiating. Burial in Kingsley cemetery will be under direction of the Dickison-Michaelson funeral home of Kingsley.

Mrs. Beeghly, the former Mary Handley, was born Sept. 30, 1896, near Correctionville. She attended the University of Northern Iowa.

She was married Feb. 12, 1927, in Kingsley and they farmed in the Rock Branch community of Woodbury county and in Grand Meadow township of Cherokee county until his death in 1966. She had lived in Cherokee in recent years.

Mrs. Beeghly was active in the Republican party, and the Meadow Star and St. Paul United Methodist churches. She was a member of Meadow Star United Methodist church and attended St. Paul United Methodist church.

Memorials in her name have been established at the two churches.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Betty) Donner of Denver, Colo., and Mrs. Norman (Dorothy) Carver of Atlanta, Ga., and five grandchildren.
