Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 16, for Joseph M, Schissel, age 79, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at Cherokee, the Rev. John Schissel, son of the deceased, officiated. Burial was in Visitation Cemetery.

Mr. Schissel died March 12 in a Sioux City hospital.

He was born June 1, 1890 in Cherokee County. On August 23, 1911 he married Rosemary Staver at Cherokee. In 1938 he founded the Schissel Manufacturing company, retiring in 1957. Mrs. Schissel died in 1963.

Survivors are: four sons, the Rev. John, Akron; Julian and James, both of Cherokee, and Robert, of Whitewater, Wis.; two daughters, Sister Mary Angelita and Sister Mary Johnita, both of Dyer, Ind., and 15
grandchildren.
