We are grieved to announce that Charley Brown, to whose serious illness we referred to a few weeks ago, died last Sunday. Mr. Brown was a plain, unassuming man, but possessed an honest heart and a kindly nature which made him wholly worthy of the high esteem in which he was held by those who knew him best. His untimely death will be deeply regretted in the neighborhood where he lived and was so well thought of.
The deceased was a member of the Odd Fellows order, and the remains were followed to the grave by a large procession of members of that society in regalia.
The funeral discourse was preached by Rev. Southwell to a congregation which completely filled the Congregational church of this place. (Aurelia Sentinel, 6-16-1887)
