The tolling of the church bell at an early hour this morning announced another death in town, and soon after it was generally known that Mrs. Talitha Phelps, wife of our C. S. Phelps, had passed away during the night. This lady had been ill for a number of months. A few weeks ago it became plain to all that her disease was incurable and since that time her death had been looked for daily. The many friends of this excellent family, both here and in Diamond, extend to them their heartfelt sympathy. The funeral will occur on Friday, June 1, at one o'clock.
Among the out-of-town relations who attended the illness and will be at the funeral for Mrs. Phelps were E. M. Phelps and Mrs. Fremont Boyland, her children from Dakota. (Aurelia Sentinel, 3-31-1887)
