OBITUARY
Mrs. Louisa Dorothea Schroeder nee Meinking was born the 26th day of October, 1863, at Nuenburg Circle, Hanover Province, Germany. She was confirmed in the year 1877, at her birthplace by Rev. Timme. In 1885 she emigrated to America, and located at Newell, Iowa. In 1892, the 20th of November, she was married to Fred Schroeder at Storm Lake, Iowa.
She departed for yonder life and shore the 28th day of January, 1913, the cause of her death being Bright’s disease. Her earthly journey extended over a space of 49 years, 2 months, and 27 days.
She leaves to mourn over her departure a loving husband, one son, Roy, one daughter, Mrs. Earl Knight, five brothers and one sister. Two of her brothers were unable to attend as they reside in the old country.
Funeral services were held in the German Evangelical church, Thursday forenoon, at 10 o’clock, conducted by Rev. Wm. Vehe of Cherokee, assisted by Rev. Earl Hoon. Interment was made in Pleasant Hill cemetery in Aurelia. Those from out of town attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Fegebank of Remsen, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schroeder and Mrs. Louise Schroeder of Granville, Mr. and Mrs. William Behrens of Albert City, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lehmkuhl, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lehmkuhl, Miss Louise Kischer and Dick Meinking of Newell, Fred Meinking and family and Mrs. Bert Brees of Peterson.
