OBITUARY
On Thursday morning at 12:30 the young and promising life of Miss Lilly Theodora Peterson, of Diamond Center, Cherokee County, was called from her work in this life to the eternal one beyond. At the time of her death she was in the home of C. E. White in Cherokee where she was rooming while attending the high school, being a member of this year’s class and would have graduated in June with high standing had she not been called higher. Death came after a short illness of pneumonia.
Lilly was born in Cherokee July 4, 1896, and died Thursday morning, March 12, 1914, age seventeen years, nine months and eight days. When eight months old, her parents moved to Riverside Co., California, where the early days of her life were spent. Coming back at the age of seven with her mother and sister, her home has been with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. Isakson of Diamond Center.
The funeral services were held from the Isakson home near Diamond Center on Sunday afternoon at two o‘clock. Interment was made in the Center cemetery. The music was furnished by a quartette of girls from her own class in the high school: Misses Hariettte Sage, Bessie Shipel, Edith Grayce and Vera Claudas. The pall bearers were all cousins of the deceasedL Messrs. Ernest, Harry, George and Axel Isakson, Carl and Elmer Anderson.
