THOMAS L. STONEKING
(November 7, 1927 - April 6, 2009)

THOMAS L. STONEKING, 81, of Cherokee, Iowa passed away Monday. April 6, 2009 at the Cherokee Villa Nursing & Rehab Center. Graveside services will be held Friday, April 17th, at 3:30 p.m. at the Prairie View Cemetery at Paullina, Iowa. It was Tommy wishes to be cremated. There will be no visitation. Tommy was born November 7, 1927 in Johnson County, Iowa. His adoptive parents were Walter and Mildred Stelck. He attended school at Wayne County Country School #24 in Nebraska and also at Paullina, Iowa. He worked as a farm hand and drove semi and gravel trucks for many years for several contractors, retiring in 1985. He enjoyed watching TV and visiting with friends. He was always proud of the car he drove and enjoyed touring the county.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law Robert Gathman.

He is survived by one sister, Doris Gathman, four nieces, one nephew and their families
