Harold Medick

Harold Medick, 54, of Cleghorn, Iowa died Wednesday April 1, 2009 at his home following a sudden illness.

Funeral services will be held Friday April 3, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Cherokee, Iowa. Rev. LeRoy Reimer will officiate. Burial will be in the Cherokee Memory Gardens, Cherokee, Iowa. Visitation will be Thursday from 1:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the family present from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Greenwood Funeral Home, Cherokee, Iowa. Harold was born on May 12, 1954 in Cherokee, Iowa to Norman and Colleen (Smith) Medick. He graduated from Meriden-Cleghorn High School in 1973. Following his education he started farming in the Rock Township area and farmed his whole career. On February 4, 1983 he married Deborah Keith in Cherokee, Iowa. Harold raised sheep and cattle on the farm and also helped Frank Escue at auctions. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be missed by many people. Harold was a member of the Cherokee Pheasants Forever Chapter.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah; sons, Joseph Bierman and his wife, Britt, of Lincoln, NE; Andrew Medick and his fiancée, Jenna, of Pierson, IA; a daughter, Sarah Smith and her husband, Tim, of Harrisburg, SD; sisters, Margaret Jellings and her husband, Michael, of Alta, IA; Sharon Watts and her husband, Larry, of Phoenix, AZ; Gloria Dreckman and her husband, Joe, of Marcus, IA; Norma Bush and her husband, Phil, of Cherokee, IA; his father, Norman Medick of Cleghorn, IA; his mother-in-law, Patricia Keith of Cherokee, IA.

He was preceded in death by his mother Colleen (1987), a nephew Cole Runyan (2005).
