MARION W FLEWELLING
(May 5, 1930 - July 31, 2008)

MARION W. FLEWELLING, 78, of Washta, Iowa passed away Thursday, July 31, 2008 at his home northwest of Washta, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 4th, at 10 a.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee. Pastor Richard Layman will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset View Cemetery at Washta, Iowa. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. with the family present from 4:30 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee. Marion was born May 5, 1930 in Woodbury County, Iowa to Frank & Sally (Gregory) Flewelling. He was married to Agnes Wagner on February 4, 1950 at Moville, Iowa. He had farmed and also owned and operated Marion Flewelling Construction Co. He also operated a gravel business in Washta. He had lived in the Washta area since 1977, prior to this in the Moville area. Marion loved to fly his airplane and was a member of the South Dakota Civil Air Patrol. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Agnes on March 8, 2004, a daughter Linda Shea in 2003, four brothers Harvey, Thomas, William and Warren Flewelling and one sister Audrey Wright

He is survived by two sons: Dale Flewelling and his wife Trish of Laveen, Arizona, Robert Flewelling and special friend Bev Newton of Sioux City, Iowa; 7 grandchildren: Joe Flewelling and his wife Lindsay, Stacie Flewelling, Scott Flewelling and his wife Amanda, Jeni Flewelling, Angie Bogh and her husband Phil, Chris Shea and his wife Michelle, Shawn Shea and his wife Valerie; 7 great grandchildren: Clayton, Haley, Alexis, Addison, Teagan, Olivia and Ethan; 3 sisters: Irene Clause and her husband Ray of Moville, Iowa; Mildred Wright of Moville, Iowa; Virginia Goss of Sioux City, Iowa; also many nieces and nephews; a special friend Della Edwards of Washta, Iowa.
