MASON DAVID PETERSON
(May 30, 1990 - August 6, 2008)

MASON DAVID PETERSON,18, of Correctionville, Iowa, formerly of Cherokee, Iowa, passed away Wednesday morning, August 6, 2008 in the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 9th, at 11 a.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Visitation will be on Friday from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. with the family present from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee. Cremation will follow the funeral service with burial of the cremains in the Sunset View Cemetery at Washta, Iowa at a later date. On line condolences may be sent to www.boothbyfuneral.com

Mason was born on May 30, 1990 at Sioux City, Iowa to David Peterson and Melissa Fuhrman. He attended Cherokee and River Valley Schools. He had been a resident of Correctionville the past 3 years and prior to this had lived in Cherokee. He had worked for P & S Construction for a short time. He enjoyed fishing, riding dirt bikes, playing video games and working on cars.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Gary Fuhrman, maternal step-grandfather Kenneth Ludvigson, paternal grandfather Robert Peterson and paternal step-grandfather Darren Ruby a great grandmother and an aunt

He is survived by his mother Melissa Barnes and her friend Dean Zahnley of Correctionville, Iowa; his father David Peterson of Sioux City, Iowa; maternal grandmother Kathy Ludvigson of Washta, Iowa; paternal grandmother Jeanne Ruby of Cherokee, Iowa; maternal great grandmother Doreen Fuhrman of Cherokee, Iowa; one brother Miles Zollman of Correctionville, Iowa; two sisters: Megan Zollman of Correctionville, Iowa and Catriona Peterson of Tuscon, Arizona; two nieces Kaleigh and Brooke Gravenish; his fiancé Charlee Brewer of Washta, Iowa; many aunts, uncles and cousins
