VIRGINIA ROBINSON
(March 23, 1921 - June 21, 2008)

VIRGINIA ROBINSON, 87, of Cherokee, Iowa passed away Saturday morning, June 21, 2008 at Countryside Estates in Cherokee.

Memorial services along with Eastern Star services will be held on Wednesday, June 25th, at 10:30 a.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. The family will be present at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until service time on Wednesday. Rev. Ray Kruger will officiate. It was Virginia’s request to be cremated. Burial of the cremation ashes will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee. On line condolences may be sent to www.boothbyfuneral.com.

Virginia was born March 23, 1921 at Cleghorn, Iowa to Donald S. and Lucy (Alber) Robinson. She graduated from Cleghorn High School in 1939. She attended Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, Iowa, graduating in 1943. She had been a school teacher, had worked for the Cherokee County Department of Human Services for many years and was the Director of the Homemaker Health Aid Program, retiring in 1980. She had lived in Cherokee since the late 1950’s, prior to this in Cleghorn. She was a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star, currently a member of the Alta Chaper #138. She enjoyed history, reading, and traveling to the east to visit relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Jerry Nelson in 2001 and a nephew Donald Ross Nelson in 1983.

She is survived by three nieces: Christine Nelson of Blue Eye, Missouri; Mary Rydeen of Worthington, Minnesota and Margaret Nelson of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
