Pauline M. Larsen, 97, of Cherokee, died Saturday April 12, 2008 at Careage Hills Nursing Home in Cherokee following a brief illness.
Funeral services were held April 15, 2008 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cherokee, with Rev. Richard Arndt officiating. Burial was in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City. Memorials are requested for the Trinity Lutheran Church and the American Cancer Society.
Pauline was born on June 19, 1910 in Carroll, Neb. to John and Marie (Jager) Paulsen. On Jan. 22, 1930 she married Evert L. Larsen in Wayne, Neb. He preceded her in death on Nov. 14, 1976.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son Larry Larsen, a daughter Delores Rupp, four grandchildren; sisters, Katherine Kieper, Alvine Bush, Augusta Finn, and Dorothy Trautman;and brothers Carl Paulsen and Herman Paulsen.
She is survived by two daughters, Diane Stieneke and her husband, Fred, of Cherokee and Darlene Hanson of Dixon, Ill; a son, Evert Larsen Jr. and his wife, Janet, of Cherokee; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; a son-in-law Floyd Rupp of Sioux City.
