Dorothy Ann Hyndman, 76, of Cherokee, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007 at Careage Hills in Cherokee, following a lengthy illness.

Services were held Friday Dec. 21 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cherokee. Father Armand Bertrand officiated. Burial was in the Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cherokee.

Dorothy was born March 23, 1931 in Cherokee, to William and Florence (Jenkins) Dushinske. She attended school at Immaculate Conception, in Cherokee, graduating in 1949. On April 6, 1953 she married Malcom "Mac" Hyndman in Cherokee.

He preceded her in death in 1987. Dorothy worked for Cherokee State Bank and later Central Trust and Savings Bank in Cherokee. Dorothy had also worked for the Hy-Vee Distribution Center in Cherokee. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Ladies Union. Dorothy enjoyed her family and golfing with her husband.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, parents and sisters , Mary Cosgrove and Janice Caldwell.

Survivors include daughters, Molly Olhausen, and her husband, Mike, of Cherokee; Nancy Nelson, and her husband, Rick, of Marcus; son, Matt Hyndman, and his wife, Cindy, of Sioux City; brothers, Bill Dushinske, and his wife, Joan, of Rockport, Texas; Tom Dushinske, and his wife, Audrey, of Cherokee; grandchildren, Nick and Natalie Olhausen; Megan and Chad Nelson; Annamarie and Muriel Hyndman; a great-granddaughter, Lauren Olhausen.
