Ruth M. Bierman, 88, of Cherokee passed away Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008, at Crystal River Nursing Home in Waupaca, Wis.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, with the Rev. Ethan Sayler officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at Cherokee. There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, with the family present 6:30 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
Ruth was born June 16, 1919, at Storm Lake, Iowa, to George and Maude (Malbone) Daniels. She graduated from Storm Lake High School in 1937. She was married to Vernon F. Bierman on Oct. 16, 1938, at Elk Point, S.D.
She was a member of Memorial Presbyterian Church in Cherokee. Ruth enjoyed traveling and working crossword puzzles.
Survivors include two sons, John "Jack" Bierman and his wife, Chris of Stevens Point, Wis., and Richard "Dick" Bierman and his wife, Judy of Cherokee; five grandchildren, Doug Bierman and his wife, Trina of Stevens Point, Steve Bierman and his wife, Brenda of Stevens Point, Brian Bierman and his wife, Jenn of Naperville, Ill., Abby Bierman of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and Andy Bierman of Cedar Falls; and three great-grandchildren, Braeden, Brea and McKenzie Bierman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vernon on Dec. 15, 1996; two brothers, Glen and Clayton Daniels; and a sister, Margaret Kavane.
