1935-1989 CHEROKEE ARCHIVES

Howard K. Fassler, 54, died Fri. morning at his home at 606 N Sherman St. Cherokee due to a heart condition.

Funeral services will be held Mon. at 2 P.M. from the St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Cherokee, Rev. J. Donald Johnson will officiate and burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee.

Howard was born on July 21, 1935 to Edgar and Margaret (Olsen) Fassler. He had graduated from Quimby High School in 1953 and then graduated from a trade school in Kansas City in 1954. He was married to Joleen Kelly on Aug. 21, 1958 at Topeka , Kan. He had worked for Bushlow Implement for the past 4 years and prior to that had worked for Cherokee Imp. for 27 years. He was a member of the St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Cherokee, the Cherokee Flying Club, the Experimental Aircraft Assn. and was secretary of the E.A.A. chapter 434 in Cherokee. He also served 6 years in the Army Reserve. He had been a resident of Cherokee for the past 31 years.

He is survived by his wife, 1 son, Mark Fassler of Cherokee, His mother Mrs Margaret Fassler of Quimby, 2 brothers, Gerald Fassler of Cherokee and James Fassler of Quimby.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edgar Fassler on June 7, 1985.
