Gary Gene Stratton, 65, of Holstein, Iowa passed away on, Nov. 17, 2007 at Nebraska Medical Center.

Funeral Services were held on Nov. 20 at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran in Holstein, with Pastor Curtis Benson officiating. Burial was in the Cushing Cemetery.

Gary was born March 23, 1942 to Boyd and Barbara (Frisbie) Stratton at Washta. He graduated from Washta High School in 1960. On June 13, 1964 he was united in marriage to Barbara Hoppe, and to this union three children were born.

Gary worked in the farming community for 40 -plus years. Spending time with his family and his grandchildren were the highlight of his life. He enjoyed a round of golf and fishing with friends.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by his wife, Barbara of Holstein; his children, Tonya and Randy Annett of Andover, Kan., James and Sophie Stratton of Clatskanie, Ore.,and Jason and Nicole Stratton of West Des Moines; five grandchildren, Andrew, Matthew & Grant Annett, Belle and Samm Stratton; a sister, Carolyn, and her husband Mel Frahm of Danbury; brother-in-law Paul and wife Deb Hoppe of Washington, W.Va.; two half-sisters, Cindy and Dennis Moret , Maxine and Eugene Ott all of Sioux City; special cousins, Sonnie and Dennis Haynes of Boise, Idaho, and Roberta and Jim Merrill of Paul, Idaho.
