1880-1931 CHEROKEE ARCHIVES

Edgar A. Blake, son of Charles A. and Emily Blake, was born Oct 9th, 1880, at Dyersville, Ia, and died Nov. 27, 1931, at the Fred Russell residence in Cherokee.

He was retired from the Illinois Central Railroad because of ill health after 28 years of service as a locomotive engineer and fireman.

He was afiliated with Speculative Lodge Burning Bush Chapter, Crusade Commandery and Eastern Star of Cherokee. He was also affiliated with The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Firemen of Cherokee.

He is survived by his sister, Alice E. Blake of Sioux City, and 2 daughters, Ruth of Cherokee and Francis of Fort Dodge.

His wife and 1 infant daughter preceded him in death.
