Memorial Services for Harriett Ellen Haight, 69, of Aurelia, will be Mon. Nov. 8 at 2:00 PM ,at the First United Methodist Church in Aurelia, with Pastor Jack Weida officiating. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Aurelia with Wharton-Redig Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Harriett died Thurs. Nov, 4, 1999, at Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital in Cherokee

She was born Mar. 19, 1930, the daughter of Clifford and Lillian (Wilcox)Ohlson, in Aurelia, Iowa She graduated from Aurelia High School is 1948 and attended Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa for 2 years. On Dec 23, 1950, she married Murlin Glenn Haight in Aurelia. She finished her teaching degree at Buena Vista College in Storm Lake in 1965. She taught elementary education at Greenville Elementary School from 1965 to 1969. She taught 5th and 6th grade English at Aurelia Elementary School from 1969 to 1976. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Aurelia. She enjoyed music and sang at many weddings and funerals of friends and families. She also loved to read books.

Survivors include her husband, 2 sons, Doug and Becky Haight of Ankeny, Ia. and Grant and Gail Haight of Sioux City: 1 daughter, Deb and Jim Hinkeldey of Alta; 8 grandchildren; 1 brother, Gus and Gardis Ohlson of Forsyth MO. 1 sister-in-law, Margaret Ann Ohlson of Storm Lake , and many other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents, infant daughter Marcia in 1951, infant son Richard in 1952, and son Scott Charles Haight in 1983.
