Kenneth C. Ludvigson, 62, of Washta passed away Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, at his residence.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Quimby United Methodist Church in Quimby, Iowa, with the Rev. Carolyn Hollar officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Holstein Cemetery, Holstein, Iowa. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, with the family present 6:30 to 8 p.m., at Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa.

Kenneth was born Jan. 12, 1945, in Holstein, Iowa, to Clarence and LaVerna (LaFrentz) Ludvigson. He graduated from Willow Community School in 1964. He served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1967, during the Vietnam War.

He was married to Kathleen Meadows Fuhrman on Feb. 15, 1972, in Elk Point, S.D. He had lived in the Washta area all his life. He had worked as the maintenance man for the town of Quimby for 29 years, retiring due to health reasons.

He was a member of the Quimby Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed farming, fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; six children, Kristine and Chad Jones of Atlantic, Iowa, Lars Ludvigson of Washta, K.C. Ludvigson of Washta, Tim and Melody Fuhrman of Quimby, Iowa, Tori Wasden of Chico, Calif., and Missi Barnes and Dean Zahnley of Correctionville, Iowa; 13 grandchildren, Tara, Kyle, Kris, Alex, Tristin, Trinidy, Taylor, Bailey, Megan, Miles, Mason and Mackenzie; three great-grandchildren, Kaleigh, Brooke and Sofia; two brothers and three sisters, Franklin and Kathy Ludvigson of Paullina, Iowa, Virgil Ludvigson of Washta, Shirley and Howard McCoy of Quimby, Mary Ann and Jim Fassler of Quimby, and Ann and Chuck Prunty of Larrabee, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant son, Lief Erick Ludvigson.
