Dale R. "Toddy" Morrow, 79, of Cherokee passed away Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007, at Cherokee Villa Nursing and Rehab Center following a lengthy illness.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, with the Rev. Ethan Sayler officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, with the family present 6 to 7:30 p.m., at the funeral home.

Dale was born Sept. 27, 1928, in Cherokee County, Iowa, to Frank D. and Dorothy (Wood) Morrow.

He was married to Jean Helms on Feb. 21, 1953, in Storm Lake, Iowa. He had worked as a linotype operator for the Cherokee Daily Times for many years. He had lived in Cherokee most of his life.

He played a guitar in several small country bands over the years. He enjoyed tropical fish and liked to listen to country western music and go fishing.

He is survived by three sons, Kirby Morrow and his special friend, Dawn Niemeier of Cherokee, Harlan "Bud" Morrow of Cherokee and Vincent Morrow and his wife, Jeanne of Le Mars, Iowa; four grandchildren, Wendy, Hugh, Sara and Tina Morrow; a great-granddaughter, Natalie; a brother and his wife, Dwight and Rose Morrow of Crescent, Iowa; a sister and her husband, Dorothy and DeWayne Houser of Mitchell, S.D.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jean on Oct. 5, 1996; brothers, Robert, Meredith, Lynn, Wallace, Frankie and Roy Morrow; and sisters, Audrey Lickiss, Joyce Hollenbeck, Betty Small, Donna Woodyard, Phyllis Morrow and Coleen Weiland.
