Marcus Lady Passes As a Relief to Suffering

Marcus, Iowa, Oct. 10. Funeral services were held for Mrs. John Greff Saturday morning at Holy Name Church, Rev. Father Cooke in charge.

Mrs. Greff died Wednesday morning at her home after months of suffering. She had been bedfast since Christmas. The most of Mrs. Greff's life was spent in Cherokee county. She was born December 4, 1859, at Tracey Minn., and while still a child moved with her parents to Bellchester, Minn. Nearly 50 years ago she came to Marcus with her mother. On December 31, 1878, she was married to John Greff at LeMars, Iowa. They lived in Marcus for two years, then moved to their present home where they have resided for 44 years.

Mrs. Greff leaves besides her husband to mourn her passing, two sons and four daughters, namely: Mrs. Peter Treinen, Alton; Mary Greff of Webster, S. D.; Mrs. Frank Swart and Celia Greff, Marcus; George of Currie, Minn.; and John of Marcus.
