David Rose, 43, of Whitehall, Mont. Formerly of Marshall, Minn. died on Aug. 5, 2007, in Montana. Services were held at 2 p.m. on Aug. 10, 2007 at First Lutheran Church in Marshall. A private family burial will be at a later date at the Marshall Cemetery.

David Lee Rose was born July 21, 1964, in Cherokee County. He was raised in Iowa and graduated from Meriden-Cleghorn High School. He was baptized and confirmed at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Cherokee.

He received his bachelor's degree from Southwest State University; while there, he began working for Schwan Food Co. in the "freezer." For 19 years, he committed a share of his time and talents with Schwan, most of it in IS. In 1995, he and Marsha Grimes were married and their son Bryan was born in 1996.

He was actively engaged in volunteering for the Marshall Ambulance and also with the Ghent Fire Department. His drive was to help others. In 2000, Dave and Marsha parted; however, they remained close friends. In 2003, he and Juli Bjornebo were married.

They and their horses moved to Montana. He and Juli parted in 2005, and he chose to stay in Montana. He loved the Montana sunrises and the mountains.

He was involved with the Whitehall Chamber of Commerce, Whitehall Animal Rescue, and Whitehall's City Council and was self-employed. He brought a special sunshine to all who knew him and he will be missed.

His father, who died in May 2007, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his son Bryan of Marshall, Minn.; mother Judy of Phoenix, Ariz.; brother Jim (and wife Tammy, children Danny and Tina) of Phoenix, Ariz. and brother Keith of Omaha, Neb.

Memorials are preferred to Prairie Home Hospice.
