Janet Ann Cipperley, 64, of Rockwell City, Iowa, formerly of Holstein, was called home Wednesday, May 30, 2007, at Stewart Memorial Hospital in Lake City, Iowa.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Barker Funeral Home in Holstein, with the Rev. Marcia F. Sangel officiating. Burial will be in Sunset View Cemetery, Washta, Iowa. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.

Janet was born May 29, 1943, in Cherokee, Iowa, the youngest daughter of Glen and Wilma (Fogleman) Cipperley. She graduated from Holstein High School in 1961. She later graduated from Iowa Lakes Community College in Estherville, Iowa, with a degree in social work. Shortly after graduation, she moved to Rockwell City, where she worked at the Heritage Home.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, where she was the contact person for the prayer chain. She also enjoyed crocheting gifts for the friendship baskets.

Even with multiple sclerosis, she enjoyed working in her flower beds and garden. She also was an avid collector of bears of all kinds. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Stephen G. Cipperley of Des Moines; two grandchildren, Devin and Kara Cipperley of Des Moines; three sisters and their husbands, Ardis and Roger Jensen of Iowa Park Texas, Joan and John Frederick of Iowa Park, Texas, and Elaine and Lloyd Brown of Sioux City; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Cipperley of Cherokee, Iowa; a special niece, Linn Ann Cipperley Price; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Myron; and her twin brother and sister in infancy, Donnie and Connie.
