Chester L. Holden, 75, died Monday, December 15, at 11:10 p.m. in Cherokee after a 10 month illness. His home was at 548 Bailey Court.

He had been in the Holden Monument Company which had been founded by his father C. B. Holden in 1883. The younger Holden retired in 1933.

His wife, Ellen survives; also one brother, Arthur of Oakland Calif.; a niece Catherine Deily and a nephew, Carroll Holden both of Phoenix.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 18 at the C. L. Holden residence on Bailey Court.

The Rev. Carl W. Beckman will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery under the direction of Boothby Funeral Home.

NOTE: Chester was born 1 December 1883. His wife was born Ellen Adeline Johnson in Alta, Buena Vista Co, IA, on 29 April 1881. She died 25 June 1977 in Cherokee.
