From the Cherokee Chronicle Times, Tuesday, May 1, 2007:

Michael Justus Miller, 46, of Arlington, Texas, a former Cherokee resident, died on Thursday, April 19, 2007 in a Fort Worth, Texas hospital.Memorial services were held Friday evening, April 27, at 7 p.m., at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee. Pastor Jim Steen officiated. Burial was at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee.

Michael was born March 8, 1961 in Cherokee, to Marvin Wallace Miller and Mary Ann (Berglund) Miller. He attended Cherokee Schools, and graduated from Washington High School in 1980. He graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Political Science in 1984, and then attended one year of law school at Creighton University in Omaha, Neb.

Miller worked as a meat department manager at several grocery stores. He lived in Arlington, Texas the past two months, and prior to this, he lived in Indianapolis, Indiana; Des Moines, and was originally from Cherokee. He was baptized at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Cherokee. He was a member of the Phi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He was a "people person" and also enjoyed traveling and collecting antiques.

He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents and a brother-in-law, Dan Larsen.

He is survived by his parents, Wally Sr .& Mary Ann Miller of Cherokee; one brother and two sisters: Wally Jr. & Mary Ann Miller of Cherokee; Sue Larsen of Larrabee; Elizabeth & Chuck White of Aurelia; also several nieces and nephews: Adam, Maddy, and Sanna Miller; Mike and Steve White; Gus and Nate Larsen; several aunts and uncles.
