Rita B. Harder, 67, of Omaha, Nebraska- formerly of Washta, Iowa - died on Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at Bergen Mercy Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.

A Celebration of Life Service was held on Saturday, April 7, 2007 at the Washta United Methodist Church. Rev. Carolyn Hollar officiated. Burial was at the Kingsley Cemetery in Kingsley.

Rita Belle Mills was born on Jan. 19, 1940 in Kingsley, the daughter of Glen and Erma (Kinzey) Mills. She was raised in Kingsley and graduated from Kingsley High School.

She and her husband, Randall Harder, were united in marriage on May 6, 1961 in Sioux City. To this union three sons were born; Todd, Terry and David. The couple farmed near Washta, until moving to California in the fall of 1986. In 1999 Rita moved to Omaha, Neb. where she worked as a legal secretary.

She had been an active member of the United Methodist Church in Washta. She enjoyed reading needlepoint gardening cooking.

She is survived by her three sons -Todd Harder and his wife Jacki of Blair, Neb., Terry Harder of Fremont, Calif., and David Harder and his wife Amy of San Mateo, Calif.; a sister, Sandra Parcel, and her husband Kendall of Lyons, Neb.; and a sister-in-law Betty Mills of Sioux City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother Max; and three sisters - Lavonne Mills, Betty Mills and Shirley Ruring.
