Cherokee Chronicle Times, Monday, March 5, 2007

Connie K. Corrington, 66, of Cherokee, died Monday, Feb. 26, 2007 in the Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, following a short illness. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 2, at 2 p.m. at the Quimby United Methodist Church. Rev. Carolyn Hollar will officiate. Burial will be in the Quimby Cemetery.

There will be a family prayer service at 1:45 p.m. at the Church on Friday. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday, March 1, at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee with the family present from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m.

She was born Jan. 18, 1941 in Cherokee, to Vernon and Phyllis (Hartliep) Corrington. She attended Quimby Schools. She had worked at Cherokee Work Services, did housekeeping for several people, worked in the laundry at Cherokee Villa Nursing and Rehab and very much enjoyed spending time with the kids at Cherokee Day Care.

She had lived in the Cherokee and Quimby area all her life. She was baptized and a member of the Quimby United Methodist Church. She will always be remembered for her smile and was always good natured.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by one sister and two brothers: Judy Cameron and her husband Tom of Alta; Vernon "Butch" Corrington and his wife Donna of Sylmar, Calif.; Dennis Corrington and his wife Sue of College Station, Texas; four nieces, two nephews, aunts and uncles: Billie Martin and Veronica Hartliep of Cherokee; Joyce & Gordon Thurman of Ava, Mo.; Cleo Baumgardner of Marcus; Marvin Corrington of Bemidji, Minn.; Karl Corrington of Burbank, Calif.
