William C. (Bill) Miller, 60, of Cleghorn passed away Thursday night, May 19, at Sacred Heart hospital in LeMars following a lingering illness.

William Miller, son of Peter L. and Kristine Miller was born at Marcus, Iowa, on March 30, 1900. He was united in marriage to Beatrice Gibson on January 26, 1927. Mrs. Miller preceded her husband in death a year ago. Mr. Miller farmed in the Cleghorn community until retiring in 1959. He was a member of the Presbyterian church in Cleghorn and was very active in church affairs. He was also a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge and Lions Club at Cleghorn.

Mr. Miller is survived by a son Ray, and a daughter Alma, both at home; six sisters, Mrs. Nels Pallesen, marcus; Mrs. Ted Lubbert, Paullina; Mrs. Johann Miller, Marcus; Mrs. Ray Bogh, LeMars; Mrs. Walter Galvin, Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. Einar Olson, Storm Lake: five brothers; Peter of Marathon, Chris of Sauk Center, Minn., John of Aurelia, Carl of Cherokee, and Herman of Remsen.

Funeral services were held Monday May 23, from the Presbyterian church in Cleghorn with the Rev. Marvin Miller officiating. Burial was in the Marcus-Amherst cemetery. Nelson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Oliver Miller, Vernon Skaggs, Forrest Booth, Charles Lamont, Nels Nielsen and Ralph Allen.
