Peter L. Miller, 74, of Storm Lake passed away Friday, July 3, at Veterans Hospital in Des Moines.

Mr. Miller was born July 5, 1895 at Marcus, Iowa, a son of Peter L. and Kristine Sandbeck Miller. He grew to manhood and lived at Marcus until World War I. He was married to Mae Booth in 1926 and farmed in the Cherokee community for many years before moving to Marathon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Henry, Bert and William C., one sister, Mrs. Ted (Ann) Lubbert and his first wife, Mae.

He was a veteran of World War I and a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Storm Lake.

Survivors include the widow, Ethel, two sons, Rodney and Eldon, one daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Wanette) Movall, 14 grandchildren, four brothers, Chris, John, Carl and Herman and four sisters, Mrs. Nels (Marie) Pallesen, Mrs. Johann (Martha) Miller, Mrs. Walter (Esther) Galvin and Mrs. Einor (Rose) Olson.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 6, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Storm Lake with the Nelson Funeral Home of Albert City in charge. Burial with military rites was in Marathon Cemetery. Pallbearers were six of his grandsons.
