Funeral services for Mrs. Ben (Faye) Erdman were held Mon. at 2 p.m., at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee with the Rev. Lynn King , pastor of the First United Methodist Church In Aurelia officiating. Faye passed away unexpectedly Fri. evening.
Kathleen Allen was soloist; Katherine Bushlow was organist. . Buriel was in Oak Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dan Mummert, Steve Erdman, Tim Erdman, Mike Mummert, Mike Dlugosch and Steve Dlugosch.
Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Coonie Mummert, Faye was born at Aurelia Jan. 27, 1902. She married Bernard C. Erdman June 2, 1920. They farmed in Minn. for 8 years, then mived to Cherokee and bought a farm in Spring Township, which they operated for 31 years. They retired and moved to Aurelia in 1959. The Erdmans are the parents of 1 son and 3 daughters all of whom survive.
Faye was a charter member of the Cherrio Club, a member of the F.A.C. club,and the United Methodist Church in Aurelia.
Faye is survived by her 3 daughters, Mrs. Paul (Vera) Pigott, of Cherokee, Mrs. John ( Bonnie) Dlugosch of Spencer, and Mrs. Dean ( Beverly) Trapp of Cupertino Calif.; 1 son Robert Erdman and his wife Diane of Marcus.2 sisters Mrs.Harold(Rurh) Speers of Aurelia and Mrs. Pauline Ross of Storm Lake, a brother Paul Mummert of Alta; 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and 1 brother, Dale Mummert.
