Mrs. Helen Smith Doupe, 76, of Cherokee, died Thurs. Oct 17, 1991 in the Cherokee Villa following a long illness.
Memorial services will be held Wed., Oct. 23, at 10:30 a.m., from the Boothby Funeral Home, Pastor Stephen Davis will officiate . There will be no visitation. Mrs. Doupe was cremated. Buriel will be in the Afton Township Cemetery at a later date.
She was born Aug. 23, 1915 at Dakota City Neb. to Milton and Ida (Holmes) Cain. She married Franklin Fay Smith in 1934 and he died Oct. 10, 1966. She Married Samual Doupe on Oct. 10, 1966. at Storm Lake. Mr. Doupe died on Oct. 26 ,1974. Her home was west of Cherokee.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, 1 sister, and a step-daughter, Joy Kristensen. She is survived by 1 son Jim F. Smith of Cherokee; 1 grandaughter,; 2 great-grandsons ; and 1 brother Geaorge Cain of Milwaukee, Wis.
