John H. Doupe was born in 1883 to Montiford and Mary (Bowen) Doupe in Ireland . In 1887 he moved with his parents to America.In 1934 he married Myrtle Lauer.
He died Tues. Apr. 9, 1963 at 12:30 p.m. in Cherokee after a long illness. His home was at 912 W. Willow. He had been a resident of Cherokee the last 23 years after retireing from a farm in Afton Township.
Survivors are his wife, Myrtle; 3 brothers, Charles, Sam, and Montiford all of Cherokee; and 5 sisters, Mrs. James (Emma) Ware, Mrs. Walter (Elizabeth) Whitney of Storm Lake, Mrs. Leland (Margretta) Loucks and Mrs. Bert (Letha) Everett of Cherokee and Mrs. John (Ruby) Beck of Hartley. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Robert, Otis , and Arthur and 1 sister, Mrs.Forrest ( Katherin) Ware .
Funeral services will be held Sat. Apr. 13 at 2:30p.m. from the Memorial Presbyterian Church , Rev A.E. Goldhorn officiating and buriel will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Boothby Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
