MacNaughton Dean Doupe, was born Dec. 21, 1920, in Cherokee County, Ia the son of Mr. And Mrs Otis Doupe. His father died 11-25-1928, leaving Macky and his mother. His mother moved to Sioux City, and Macky, not wanting to live in the city preferred to spend time with his uncle, Robert Doupe on the farm at Cherokee and also attended school here. He was baptized in Presbyterian Faith.
Macky's health began to fail about 3 years ago . During that time all medical aid was given. Macky was called home to be with his father and his grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Montiford Doupe, Thursday, June 15 at the age of 18 years.
Surviving are his mother and stepfather , B.A. Carrick, of Canton S.D. , grandmother, Mrs. C.E. Hall, of Sioux City, and grandfather, , Carol Bates of Cherokee, uncles, , Robert, John, Charles, Samuel, Arthur and Montiford Doupe of Cherokee and Albert Bates of Los Angeles CA, aunts Mrs. James Ware, Mrs. Walter Whitney, Mrs. Forrest Ware, Mrs. Leland Loucks, Mrs. Bert Everett, Mrs. John Beck, Jr. of Cherokee.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 P.M. Sun. , June 18 from Presbyterian Church in Cherokee, Rev. Alfred Peterson was in charge . Buriel was in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. T.C. Olsoen sang 2 selections, "Beautiful Isle Of Somwhere" and "Nearer My God to Thee". Mrs. Clarence Coon was at the organ.
Pallbearers were Gerald Mummert, Mickey Jones, Cletus Odle, Bud Crane, Bryle Elliott and Ray Smith.
