Samuel W. Doupe, 76, Cherokee, died at 2:40 A.M. Oct. 26th, 1974
He had made his home on W. Main St. Cherokee the past 5 years. Prior to that he lived on a farm in Cherokee Township.
He was born to Montiford and Mary (Brown) Doupe on 11-16-1897. On 10-10-1969 he married Helen Smith in Storm Lake. He was a member of the IOOF Lodge No. 188, Cherokee.
He is survived by his wife; a stepson, Jim Smith, Cherokee; brothers, Charles and Monte, Cherokee; and sisters Mrs. Jim (Emma) Ware, Cherokee; Mrs. Walter (Elizabeth) Whitney, Storm Lake, and Mrs. John( Ruby) Beck, Hartley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and 3 sisters. John, Robert, Arthur, Otis, Mrs. Forrest (Catherine) Ware, Mrs. Leland (Margaretta) Loucks and Mrs. Bert (Letha) Everett.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Boothby Funeral Home with the Rev. A.E. Goldhorn officiating. Buriel will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
