Mary Brown was born in Rathkesive Ireland, Jan. 15, 1859 and departed this life Feb. 15, 1932 at the age of 73 years. She was the daughter of Adam and Elizabeth Bowen. She was a member of Episcopal Church of Cherokee.
She was united in marriage to Montiford Doupe on May, 17. 1881. 13 children were born to this union all of whom are living except Otis who preceeded her in death 3 years ago.
In 1887, they came to America with their 4 children and with the exception of 2 years spent in Wisc. they lived in Cherokee County , the last 32 living on the family farm in Afton Township. Montie and Mary celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversery on May, 17th. 1931.
The children John, Mrs. James (Emma) Ware, Mrs. Walter (Elizabeth) Whitney, Robert, Charlie, Mrs. Forrest ( Catherine) Ware, Mrs. Leland (Margaretta) Loucks. Mrs. Bert (Letha) Everett, Samual, Arthur, Mrs. Ruby Heck.
Besides her aged husband she is survived by 2 sisters, Mrs. Fred Seeger and Mrs. Selina Hill residing in England and a brother, John living in Ireland. 1 sister preceeded her in death. 16 Grandchildren , nunerous other relatived and friends
She will be greatly missed by her family whom she loved so well.
