Doupe, Montiford.
Montiford Doupe, pioneer farmer of Afton Township, died at 6:00 P.M. Wed. at his home in Afton Township. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. at the Presbyterian Church in Cherokee
Sun. with Rev. R.C. Mitchell in charge. Buriel will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Montie was born in Ireland. On May 17th , 1881, he was united in marriage to Mary Bowen. To this union 13 children were born.
In 1887, Montie and Mary left Ireland and came to America with their 4 children. With the exception of 2 years spent in Wisc. they have resided in Cherokee County , the last 32 years having been spent on the family farm in Afton Township. Montie and Mary celebrated thier 50th. Wedding Anniversery May 17, 1931.
The children are Otis deceased, John, Mrs. James (Emma) Ware, Mrs. Walter (Elizabeth) Whitney, Robert, Charlie, Mrs. Forrest ( Catherine) Ware, Mrs. Leland ( Margaretta) Loucks, Mrs. Bert ( Letha ) Everett, Samual, Arthur, Montiford,and Mrs. Ruby Heck. 16 Grandchildren, and 3 great- grandchildren.
