William "Bill" Glawe, 77, of Sioux City, formerly of Aurelia, died Friday, Jan. 26, 2007, at Indian Hills Nursing and Rehab Center in Sioux City, where he had been a resident since Aug. 6, 2004.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in Aurelia, with the Rev. Alva Hohl of Congregational United Church of Christ in Sioux City, officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Aurelia. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Redig Funeral Home in Aurelia.

William Charles Glawe was born Feb. 7, 1929, on the family farm south of Aurelia, the son of Richard Carl and Gladys (Parker) Glawe. He graduated from Aurelia High School in 1946 and attended Iowa State University for two years.

On Dec. 25, 1950, he married Bernadine Godfrey in Adel, Iowa. He farmed his entire working life.

He was a member of Congregational United Church of Christ in Sioux City. He enjoyed fishing, sports and gardening.

Survivors include his wife, Bernadine Glawe of Aurelia; three daughters, Pat and her husband, Roger Honsbruch of Sioux City, Sharon Glawe of Cherokee, Iowa, and Donna Glawe of Cherokee; four grandchildren, Heather and her husband, Louie Centeno of Sioux City, Greg Honsbruch and his wife, Megann of Lafayette, Ind., Brent Honsbruch of Parachute, Colo., and Kelsey Honsbruch of Sioux City; four great-grandchildren, Dylan and Devin Centeno and Carter and Keira Honsbruch; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents
