Mrs. Frank (Luella) Ducommun , 90, of Cherokee, Ia. passed away Mon. Dec. 6, 1999. in Sioux Valley Hospital in Cherokee following a 3 week illness.
Funeral services will be held on Wed. Dec. 8, at 10:30 a.m. from the Boothby Funersl Home. Mr. Greg Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in the Meridem Cemetery at Meriden, Ia. There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home with the family present. Visitation will be on Tues. from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. at the Funeral Home with the family present from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m..
Luella was born on May 19, 1909 at Paullina, Ia. to Charles and Rachel (Ehlers) Stroman. She was married to Frank Ducummon on Apr. 8, 1933 at Cherokee, Ia. She and Frank farmed in Afton Township for many years, retiring in 1973 and moving to Cherokee. They made their home at 500 Ash Street in Cherokee. Luella loved the farm, gardening, cooking, sewing and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Luella is survived by her husband Frank; 1 daughter; Dee Kolpin and her husband Duane of Hartley, Ia. 1 granddaughter; Debra Rushenberg and her husband Tracy of Des Moines, Ia. and 2 grandsons Andrew and Samuel Rushenberg of West Des Moines , Ia.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, 3 sisters; Lena Bruns, Edith Brandt, and Bertha Kinzel and 1 brother, Harold Tsroman.
