Funeral services for Dale M. Mummert, 61, were held July 27, from Mt. Olive Baptist Church, with Rev. Robt. Noblit officiating. Mr Mummert who had been in ill health for some time, passed away Wed. at Sioux Valley Hospital in Cherokee.
Burial with Wharton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements was in Good Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers were Lee Peterson, Bill Good , Clarence Fessler, Edger Allen, Tom Selk and Fergus Taylor.

Dale was born May 11, 1913, in Cherokee, son of Conrad and Alice Mummert. On Mar. 14, 1942, he was united in marriage to Mildred Allen at Dakota City, Neb. The couple were the parents of 2 children. Dale served in the Army Air Corps during WW II . He had benn employed the past 18 years by Peterson Motor Co. in Cherokee.

In addition to his wife, Mildred, he is survived by a son, Dan, of Aurelia; A daughter, Mrs. Ron (Dianne) Hankel of Sioux City; 4 grandchildren; a brother, Paul, of Alta and 3 sisters; Mrs Ben Erdman and Mrs. Harold Speers, both of Aure;ia. and Mrs. Frank Ross of Storm Lake.
