Harry W. Mummeret, 79, 223 E. Spruce, died Friday of an apparent heart attack. he had been a lifelong resident of Cherokee County.
He was born Aug. 20, 1901 to Mr. and Mrs. William Mummert. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church and an honory lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. On June 21, 1922 Harry married Ruth Gifford at I.C. Church.
Survivors include his wife; sons, Dean, Cherokee, Keith, Slidell. LA. Richard, El Cajon, Calif, John (Jack), Orange Calif, Philip, Yuma AR, Lyle, Cherokee; a daughter, Mrs. Tony ( Rita) Carlson, Fairbanks Alaska; a brother, Neal, Cherokee; sisters, Mrs. Gus (Opal) Jensen, Cherokee, Mrs. Arlene Parrott, Aurelia; 25 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sons and 1 granddughter.
Services will be held Tues. at 10:30 A.M. at the Immaculate Conception Church, the Rev. A.E. McCoy will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The parish rosary will be recited at 7:30 P.M. Mon. and the Knights of Columbus rosary at 8:00 P.M.Monday at Greenwood Funeral Home. The C.D. of A. Courtesy Commitee is Mrs. Del Ament and Mrs. John Eischen,
